INDEPENDENCE–The Independence Public Library presents one of the Norway baseball players in The Final Season, Jase Jensen, this Sunday, July 6, at the River Walk Park. Jensen will begin speaking at 8:30 p.m. at the Band Pavilion. He will share stories and anecdotes about being an actor in this Iowa-based movie with Sean Astin, Powers Boothe, Tom Arnold, and Rachael Leigh Cook.

Final Season is about the Norway baseball team. In this small Iowa town, population 586, the high school baseball team was legendary. The high school team won 19 state championships in 24 years. When the decision is made to merge the school with another nearby town, there is just one last chance to win their 20 championship. Can the team make history with a rookie coach in their final season?

Jase Jensen is originally from Lisbon, Iowa, and was an outfielder and shortstop at Coe College. He says that being in The Final Season was a great summer job. He is currently in the Independence area working as the campaign manager for Gene Ficken who is running for state representative.

Come to the park Sunday to enjoy hearing about Jensen's experiences as one of the Norway baseball players in Final Season. Stay to enjoy a great movie experience under the stars. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and an appetite for popcorn and pop. The movie, hosted by the Independence Public Library and sponsored by BankIowa, is free!
