VINTON — A new era for the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District began Wednesday, as Mary Jo Hainstock officially began her duties as District superintendent.

It is that time of year, when I shut off my TV and ignore national sports until the NFL begins. Should be a good time for me to get outside, apart from work, that is.
